I talked to the product engineer at the scene and got a reply that the 48V system was added to solve some slight setbacks of the previous generation 5 Series at low speed and low gear. From the actual sense of body, you can’t feel the intervention of the small motor of this 48V system at all, and the power input in the whole area is very smooth.
Now, if you put the driving mode in comfort, the dynamic response to sudden acceleration of this 5-Series is slower than before, a little slower than BMW. But if you keep cruising or cruising, and the power is smooth enough to burst in comfortable mode, you will be surprised to find out whether the engine in front is running. In short, according to your different driving demands, the new 5 Series in comfort mode will give you a very contrast.

It’s very simple, either directly cut the sports mode and return to the most familiar BMW’s dynamic response state, or the left-hand paddle of the steering wheel has a "Boost" mode. The difference is that after the "Boost" mode is triggered, the performance of the i5 motor will be more intense.

Compared with the crazy volume hardware specifications in the field of intelligent electric vehicles in China, BMW still relies on the combination scheme of vision and short-wave radar to provide assisted driving function, and also realizes high-speed navigation assistance based on vehicle navigation system.

When you start the navigation-assisted driving in the highway scene, if the vehicle detects a slow train ahead, the system will start scanning the surrounding lane environment.
